Tim Newby Timothy Newby is a Professor of Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University. He conducts research on issues pertaining to motivation, human learning, and the impact of instructional strategies on the learning process. He teaches introductory courses in educational technology, as well as advanced courses in instructional design, foundations of instructional design theory and instructional strategies. His research efforts have produced several textbooks focused on educational technology, as well as journal articles dealing with the development and use of instructional strategies such as analogies, mnemonics, and various forms of animated and static graphics. His instructional strategies research has led to an interest in the technologies that can help to implement those strategies. Currently he is investigating the use of Web 2.0 technologies and their potential impact within various types of learning environments. Judy Lewandowski Judith Oates Lewandowski is an Associate Professor of Instructional Technology at Indiana University South Bend. Prior to joining the faculty, Judith served as a high school educator, professional development specialist, and K-12 Outreach Coordinator for Purdue University. Her research and pedagogical interests include technology integration, social studies education, issues of privacy and security, and the development of authentic assessment within technology integration courses.
