The Art of Wire : Creative Techniques for Designer Jewelry

"The Art of Wire" is loaded with techniques that the reader can use to create what all jewellery enthusiasts seem to want more of - wire jewellery. Projects featured in this book take on a wide variety of looks from the more obvious wire-like (filigree or shaped wire) to that of more solid metal (wrapped or hammered wire) to what almost resembles fabric (crocheted wire). After an extensive techniques section, each of six chapters focus on a different facet of wire working and patterns for shaped-wire projects are provided when necessary. Each of the 40+ projects are stepped out and styles range from upscale to more casual and many incorporate beautiful gemstones into their design.

J. Marsha Michler has authored 12 books and several magazine articles about her extensive and varied crafting expertise. She also teaches, lectures, signs books, and shows her artwork in the New England area. In her spare time she gardens, builds stone walls, and enjoys sushi with her husband. She resides in southern Maine.
