Amsterdam: Frederick Muller, 1894. No. 52 of only 100 copies, printed on Dutch paper (Van Gelder). Engraved image measuring approx. 48 x 36cm with wide margins. Contemp. hand coloured. Mounted and framed in a gilt lined mahogony frame behind glass. A very handsome piece. NOTE: This little known Italian map of North and South America is a clever adaption by Gio. Bat. Mazza, the engraver, of the ""Maris Pacifici"" map dated 1589 and first pub. in the Additamentum to the ""Theatrum Orbis Terrarum"" of Abr. Ortelius of 1590. Original copy in the Trinity College Library, Cambridge.
