This is a rare book from the Berkelouw Rare Books Department.
Of the 118 items, 99 are books, most published in London or New York, between 1932 and 2002, but mainly in the 1980's. Of the books, 67 are original cloth with dustjackets, 17 are illustrated wrappers and the rest are orignal cloth or illustrated cloth or boards. Sizes are from 12mo. up to Folio. Many of the books are by Arthur Conan Doyle, including The Mystery of Cloomber, London: Ward & Downey Ltd., 1895 and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, London: Longman, Green and Co, 1898. Also included is the complete 9 volume set of The Oxford Sherlock Holmes, 1993. Other authors include Ronald Burt De Waal, Michael Hardwick, June Thomson and M.J.Trow. Some books are on movies or T.V. series about Sherlock Holmes. Beside the books there are 14 CDs, and three dossiers by Simon Goodenough based on the Hound of the Baskervilles, The Sign of Four and A Study in Scarlet. There is also a Consulting Detective Game ""Sherlock Holmes"" and a menu for the Sherlock Holmes Inns in Melbourne. Most of the items have book plates on the front end-paper, but otherwise in fine condition.
