Can you believe it? Ampersand Magazine is into its fourth issue! The Spring 2011 issue, titled From the Heart of the Forest to the Edge of the Road, covers the stories on the outskirts through a variety of disciplines including essay, art, poetry, and short fiction.
Editor Alice Gage first conceived the idea of the magazine in 2007 while living in Melbourne. Disappointed with the lack of quality content in the market, and inspired by some small arts publications overseas, Gage released Ampersand's first issue in 2009. Exploring creativity, societal change and the human condition, the magazine is now into its fourth issue and features contributions from a variety of artists and writers. Senator Bob Brown talks about his life in Liffey, Tasmania; Fabian Muir explores the ghost towns of Chernobyl; and Thomas Henning and Nick Coyle supply short fiction to the issue.
Self-described as the 'quarterly curiosity journal', this little gem is only $10 and available from our stores in Paddington, Cronulla or Newtown.
