The illustrated design subsequently used for the catalogue which was photolithographed by Fergusen and Mitchell whilst identical is smaller in format (174 x 108mm) to the "proof" engraving (190 x 135mm) here offered. The publisher's imprint at the foot of the catalogue's cover is absent on the proof plate which is printed in grey/black ink on wove laid paper as opposed to the greenish tint ink used on the subsequent catalogue.
