Writers Live - Meet Michael Mobbs when he introduces Sustainable Food
26th Mar '13 @ Berkelouw Paddington
After renovating his inner-city Sydney terrace and making it almost entirely self-sufficient in energy, water and waste disposal, Michael Mobbs realised his house was sustainable but he wasn't.
While his house saved 100,000 litrees of dam water a year, the same amount of water is used to produce 10 day's worth of food for the average Australian. In Sustainable Food, Michael Mobbs turns his attention to reducing the carbon emissions associated with the growing, processing, transporting, selling and disposing of food.
You are invited to join the conversation when Michael Mobbs discusses his new book with Costa Georgiadis, host of Gardening Australia on ABC TV. They explore food and its journey from seed through soil to stomach at Berkelouw Books in Paddington at 6.30 pm on Tuesday March 26th.
