Writers Live - Anne Latreille introduces Garden Voices: Australian Designers - their Stories
20th Feb '14 @ Berkelouw Mona Vale
Garden Voices is the first book to study designers who demonstrate a deep understanding of the Australian environment and an ability to work within it creatively.
Author Anne Latreille traces the life stories and achievements of 19 key garden and landscape designers from around Australia - individuals and partnerships. Including historic figures and contemporary practitioners, she shows how they fit each garden to its place whether they work in lush tropical forests, on chilly mountains, beside the sea or in packed inner city suburbs.
Based on research extending over 14 years this book takes you inside the hearts and minds of these designers to show how Australian energy and imagination can be transformative, inspiring and progressive.
Anne Latreille trained as a journalist. She wrote the award-winning Environs column for The Age newpaper and was its gardens editor from 1984-1997. She is the author of several books on gardens and garden designers in Australia.
You are invited to meet Anne Latreille when she introduces her new book at 6.30pm on Thursday, February 20th at Berkelouw Books in Mona Vale.
