Writers Live - Benjamin Allmon introduces Foot Notes
3rd Aug @ Berkelouw Mona Vale
You are invited to meet Benjamin Allmon when he introduces his new book Foot Notes.
In 2006, after more than a decade trying to make it in music, singer-songwriter Ben Allmon is getting desparate. As his former band mates settle into sensible careers he gives it one last shot. He records an album - he is audio-engineer and multi-instrumentalist as well as singer and songwriter. The only problem - how to promote it?
After reading of how the Deep South bluesmen of early 20th century America's Great Migration would walk and play their way to Chicago, he decides to do the same, only from Pottsville to Sydney, 1000 kilometres of Australian coastline. Kissing his girlfriend goodbye, he sets off with a guitar, a sleeping bag and a heroic miscalculation of what he's getting into... and, he's about to discover why he's really doing this.
Join us when Benjamin Allmon is our guest at 6.30pm, on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017.
