Writers Live - Kelly Brooke Nicholls introduces A Reluctant Warrior
27th Jul '17 @ Berkelouw Mona Vale
You are invited to meet Kelly Brooke Nicholls when she introduces A Reluctant Warrior.
This rare glimpse into Colombia's notorious drug wars comes from an Australian who knows the country intimately.
When Luzma's brother Jair unwittingly uncovers a plan by Columbia's most notorious drug cartel to smuggle an unprecedented cocaine shipment into the US, it puts their family in grave danger.
When Jair is kidnapped by the cartel Luzma is forced to go face to face with vicious paramilitary leader, El Cubano, and General Ordonez, ruthless head of the military - men who will stop at nothing to protect their empires.
A Reluctant Warrior is written as fiction but has been driven by Kelly's desire to communicate the impact the ongoing war has had on ordinary citizens in Colombia, and the horrendous human rights abuses inflicted on them. Kelly has interviewed hundreds of victims of war plus gang leaders, paramilitaries and those trying to catch them.
