The remains of the orig. cellophane dustjackets adhered to the cloth covers and some slight foxing otherwise in fine unused condition. Scarce. The series consist of the following: Idriess - The Desert Column; Maxwell - Hell's Bells and Madamoiselles; White - Guests of the Unspeakable; Rule - Jacka's Mob; Williams - The Gallant Company; Tilton - The Grey Battalion; Reid - The Fighting Cameliers; Morrow - Iron in the Fire; Burton - The Silent Division; Jones - Watchdogs of the Deep; Sutherland - Aces and Kings; Monash - The Australian Victories in France in 1918. Added: A 4pp. typed letter from J.L. Treloar (the inaugural director of The Australian War Memorial in Canberra) to his son Alan dated 5 February 1939 narrating an event at Gaza during W.W.I. The letter is loosely inserted in Vol. I of the collection.
