London 1809. Facsimile edition: Mark Walsh Publishing Melbourne 1975. 8vo. Full tooled brown calf with raised spine bands. In original slipcase. (316 2pp.). With 2 fold. plates. Lim. ed. of 350 copies this being No. 243. Additional calf title-label in pocket on back endpaper. Some very light foxing to title-page otherwise a fine and attractive copy. NOTE: Nicolas Baudin led the French expedition to chart the unknown southern coast of New Holland. They met Matthew Flinders and the 'Investigator' on 8 April 1802 at Encounter Bay in South Australia. Baudin died in 1803 on the homeward journey to France so it was left to the expedition's naturalist Franois Pron to publish the account and charts of the voyage.
