NOTE: The Nordenskjold expedition was part of a three pronged geographical survey on the Antarctic continent devised at the International Geographical Congress of 1895. Nordenskold's sector was to be the South Atlantic and they achieved a great deal especially considering that they lost their ship Antarctic to the ice which left the party stranded in three groups over winter.
