Encased in fine red solander box with silver ribbon (light foxing on inside of case & small rubbing to one edge). Silver-dec. spine with red morocco title-labels and raised bands. (x pp. 151-380). With 56 full-page col plates 14 full-page b/w plates distribution maps and text-illusts. Limited edition of 1000 copies this being No. 555 and signed by the author and illustrator. Moderate rubbing to gilt writing on spine and light foxing on page edges otherwise a fine copy. NOTE: Joseph Forshaw is an Australian expert on parrots. He has produced several ornithological works with artist William Cooper.
