London: Printed for Knight and Lacey, 1825. 8vo. With 35 engraved plates; a good set in contemporary calf, rebacked. A very full anthology of English criminal trials, the later parts of which correspond with the Transportation period. There are a number of trials of Australian interest, including the Scottish Martyrs, the Luddites of the Midland Counties, Lisle (a.k.a Semple), Lord George Gordon, Thurtell and Hunt, etc. Perhaps the most interesting is the trial of Nathaniel Lilley, James Martin, and others for escaping from Botany Bay. Ferguson records only the British Museum, Mitchell Library and State Library of Victoria copies. Ferguson, 1002.
