The autographs include Edmund Barton Alfred Deakin John Christian Watson (the first three Prime Ministers of Australia with Watson holding office from April to August 1904 as Australia's first Labor Prime Minister). The album lists 104 signatures of both M.P.s as well as Senators among which we list Joseph Cook (when Deakin resigned in 1913 Cook became leader of the Liberal Party and subsequently Prime Minister) William John Lyne (Premier of New South Wales) Frederick Holder (First Speaker of the House of Representatives) Austin Chapman (Chapman performed the strategically important duties of Government Whip) William Morris Hughes (who became Prime Minister in 1915) Andrew Fisher Sir John Quick (co-author of the authoritative "Annotated Constitution of the Australian Commonwealth" published in 1901) Isaac Alfred Isaacs (Attorney-General Chief Justice of the High Court and first Australian born Governor-General) Henry Bournes Higgins etc. etc. Sm. 4to. In orig. oblong calf portfolio and preserved in full mottled calf solander case with gilt title to upper cover and spine. A most desirable and iconic memento of Australia's Federation History and Australia's first Parliamentary Representatives.
