Containing 31 speeches covering a range of topics including the Draft Commonwealth Bill Sugar Industry and the Federal Capital site. NOTE: James Thomas Walker (1841-1923) was a financier and politician who played an important role in the early days of Australian Federation. After being dismissed by Alfred Deakin following the Australian Federal Convention (1897-1898) he published the speeches he delivered at the convention. His ideas were later adopted at the Melbourne sittings and he went on to have a successful political career.
