NOTE: On the evening of 19 July 1916 the Australian 5th Division along side the British 61st Division attacked the German lines at Fromelles in the first major action of the Australians on the Western Front. By the next day the attack was a total failure the Australians lost over 1900 dead and some 3100 wounded in 24 hours the worst casualties the Australians suffered during the entire First World War. Includes Roll of Honours for both the Australians and British.
