Melbourne: Printed for the Author 1875. 8vo. Orig. dark green pebble-grain cloth with gilt view of Mt Olga on front cover & title on spine. (iv 224pp.). With folding map. A very good complete copy of the First Edition of Giles' account of his first two expeditions published for Giles under the patronage of Ferdinand von Mueller to help raise funds for further expeditions. This copy inscribed by von Mueller "A souvenir from the originator of these enterprises". Rare and desirable thus. Preserved in a specially made solander folding case.
