London: T. and W. Boone 1841. 8vo. Orig. calf with gilt borders and dentelles (edges worn; calf marked). Spines with raised bands gilt and black morocco titling labels (worn and rubbed). With 2 folding maps at beginning of Vol. I and 59 illusts. some of which are col. and include frontisps. Front hinge in Vol. I. cracked. Frontisp. in Vol. I foxed with a slight detachment. Plates in Vol. II foxed around edges not affecting illusts. End-papers lightly foxed otherwise a near fine set. NOTE: Originally born in Lisbon George Grey's expeditions helped to open up the West of Australia and was the first time the language of the Nanad People was recorded. He then went on to become the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
