NOTE: Matthew Flinders (1774-1814) married Ann Chappelle (1772-1852) in April 1801 just three months before he sailed for Australia. During his return in December 1803 he was imprisoned by the French in Ile de France (todays Mauritius) and not released and reunited with his wife until 1810.
