Captain William Frederick Longstaff was an Australian painter and war artist best known for his works commemorating those who died in the First World War. Menin Gate at Midnight arguably his most famous painting depicts the ghostly figures of soldiers marching past the monument. This painting is housed in the Australian War Memorial Canberra. This is the original pamphlet promoting the painting's provenance and installation at the War Memorial in 1928. Scarce.
