With frontisp. 15 full page b/w plates and two folded maps. Signed and dedicated by the author on front free endpaper. Assoc. letter dated 1928 from Rachel Pitt-Rivers daughter of Governor General of Australia Lord Forster tipped in on rear endpaper. Some toning and foxing on prelim. pages and rear pages. Good condition. NOTE: A scarce signed abridged edition which popularises the theory that there were so called `blond or copper eskimos ' (Copper Inuit) in the Canadian Arctic descended from the lost Icelandic colonists in Greenland. This copy is dedicated to a young John Mills son of 2nd Lieutenant Cecil Beaumont Mills. Stefansson came to Sydney in 1924 to deliver a series of lectures on Arctic exploration.
