The painting measures 22.5 x 15.25 cm. and depicts a street scene with 2 figures in the foreground one of whom is on horseback a church and opposite cottages. Painted in sepia with coloured hills in the background. Mounted on paper. Fine condition. NOTE: J.B. Henderson (1827 - 1918) worked mostly on the Victorian goldfields and is remembered for his small watercolour depicting the Eureka Stockade now held in the Mitchell Library. The painting here offered captures the period of early settlement.
