First edition. Previous owner's name on fly-leaf of each volume. An attractive set. NOTE: Robert (1728-92) and James (1730-94) Adam were the sons of the leading Scottish architect William Adam. They are renowned for transforming English architecture from the heavy neoclassic style to the light elegant style named after them.
