London: Sims and M'Intyre 1851. Sm. 8vo. Orig. half calf with gilt panelling on spine. Marbled boards (extremities rubbed). (416pp.). Back hinge loose but holding. This particular edition is not recorded in Ferguson or in Miller & McCartney. The version listed in Ferguson (5075) is the London edition of 1849. It is the story of Charles Dudley who was wrongly accused of manslaughter and sent to Van Diemen's Land as a convict where he made observations which are described in detail. This item is not recorded in the British Museum catalogue.
