NOTE: Norman Lindsay (1879-1969) is widely considered one of Australia's finest most versatile and collectable artists. Lindsay started out as a cartoonist for The Bulletin magazine. He is well known for his nudes which excited much controversy at the time as well as his children's classics The Magic Pudding. Lindsay's etching career roughly spans the period between the two World Wars with the 1920's proving his most fruitful. He was brought to etching by his older brother Lionel who had already had some success in the medium. The present volume publishes forty-five Lindsay etchings from 1918-1924. The beautiful and intricate etchings were produced using copperplates and were printed by Rose Lindsay Norman Lindsay's model muse collaborator and wife.
