(Official History of Australia in the War 1914-1918 Vols I-II). NOTE: Covers the official account of the landing at Gallipoli on 25th April 1915 and the charge at the Nek by the Eighth and Tenth Regiments Australian Light Horse on 7th August 1915 on which the climax of the film 'Gallipoli' is based. Charles Edwin Woodrow Bean (1879-1968) was Australia's Official Correspondent and subsequently its official Historian. He more than any other shaped the Anzac Legend.
