NOTE: Author was Medical Officer of 2/15th Field Regiment Royal Australian Artillery and was taken prisoner by the Japanese on the fall of Singapore 15th February 1942. For the next three-and-a-half years he helped save the lives of fellow prisoners-of-war in Changi on the Burma-Thailand railway and in Japan.
