NOTE: Born into a Jewish family in Germany Hans Adolf Buchdahl came to Australia in 1940 and went on to become the head of the Department of Theoretical Physics in the Faculty of Science at the Australian National University in Canberra from 1963 to 1984. He is known for Buchdahl's theorem on the Schwarzschild's solution as well as his contributions to thermodynamics optics and general relativity.
